I PAIR ME


I spy again, or fly again, or I’m just me… again. Because I happened by these unknowable children of another, trapped and flattened in some manila folder with an inspirational label. The organizer me can forget her treasures when that beige has swallowed them away. But how alive they can become, even in their wilted 2D, when the moment that has me look is the moment I needed them. Those clippings that keep me from clipped wings. Like a personally curated Tarot, and a deck not random at all. A matching game, where one part of the pair, is me.

FROM FELT TO THE EVERLASTING


Wearing the felt flower hair tie of a stashed high school dance costume, in my old studio. One of my first businesses in grade school actually involved felt magnet production… I would sell at my own table at the local fair. Santa Clauses and Christmas trees sporting pom-pom noses and bulbs steeped in miniature puddles of glue offering but a week of life. To learn what has lasting quality – well, that takes a lifetime. We switch to better and better glues as we get more and more of the clue… Until we learn that lasting MORE
