INANIMATE ROMANCE

I was 19 and gifted a private tour of the marble mine from which Michelangelo had ordered his blocks. Creamy calcium-rich puddles were just begging for cereal beside their massive parents. I went off with my camera and… MORE

MARSHMALLOW MIND

He heard somewhere that we are what we eat. So he questioned whether he’d rather be an artificially colored glazed donut with sprinkle bling or a gnarly raw head of something green. Whether he’d… MORE

EMPTY THE LOT

Sometimes it helps to think of your life like a parking lot, and to take inventory of what is “parked” there. Having the courage to tell some clunkers that the parking is no longer free – or even available – can do wonders to reset your inner palace! ⭐️

GRAVY INSIDE CLIMATE CHANGE

Paradise has literally, burned down.

Finding beauty in the unlikely place may never have been more necessary a life attitude.

Some of us today get to smile into the earth tone foods that are nourishing us by secured candle flame… and some of us are MORE

WHAT HOT PINK PANTS TAUGHT ME ABOUT CONFIDENCE

I was probably about 12 years old when this seemingly inconsequential incident I’m about to describe went down.

So my catholic school navy blue sweater and grey pleated skirt had nothing on my after school and weekend attire at that time. I grew up in the age of neon, where a shirt might feature puffy paint in a shocking orange. I ask if I came into this world a colorist, or became a colorist by how I came into this world…

In any case, I had a pair of baggy neon pink pants with MORE

FRANK’S FINAL BLUE

I have been gifted many mentors in this life… and Frank Lane was one. Author of Killer Brands, he saw something unique in my CLOSER photography work, and took me on pro bono.

TRUE CONFESSIONS #8

I know about staring at the utter perfection of a breakfast table arrangement as though everything were sparkling me alive and eating up the concept of time, with no more fantastical a place to go in all the world… than right where I was seated. #Presence #Rocks Shot and composite work by my Johnny Fletcher!

PARTHENONING IN MY PJs

I took this shot forever ago with a disposable camera, and only today, it finds its story…

So I took Amtrak’s train “The Vermonter” north yesterday from Penn to visit my parents for a 6 day marathon of technological troubleshooting and straight-up furniture assembling, to up-level their lives a little… and about 6 hours into my ride, the train plowed through a tree on the tracks and its branches crashed against my window and I had that moment: “yes, this train might derail now”.

It’s funny how MORE

DAILY BREAD

Kelly green. Meat. Childhood. Endless metaphor. Happy Meal toys fallen in ketchup. Walking to buy lettuce in pink shoelaces. Where I find cheer: it’s here and it’s there. #VisualPoetry is my daily bread.
