MOM WALL

“In personal life, the warm glow of nostalgia amplifies good memories and minimizes bad ones about experiences and relationships, encouraging us to revisit and renew our ties with friends and family. It always involves a little harmless… MORE

EYE CONTACT

“Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that goddamn mountain.” – Jack Kerouac Or, climb that tree, if you’re a goat and you’re Tree Goat Media, my company. Ha! When I stare out the tech office window here in Belgrade, this eye stares back at me. Well, it’s obscured by tree branches, but its essence seeps through like continuous metaphor medicine nonetheless. A reminder that humans build technology, not the other way around. That humans get to control how much influence they allow technology to have over […]

THE FRAME EQUATION

“But if the world could remain within a frame like a painting on a wall. Then I think we’d see the beauty, then we’d stand staring in awe.” -Conor Oberst

THE DOG SAYS

The ancient Egyptians held the dog in high esteem. The city of Cynopolis literally translates as “Dog”. The Greeks selected a three-headed Dog, Cerberus, as their guardian of the dead. Not only has dog been considered a protector throughout time, but also a soul intermediary. Dogs aren’t easily MORE

ATHENS PLANTS

“Man takes root at his feet, and at best he is no more than a potted plant in his house or carriage till he has established communication with the soil by the loving and magnetic touch of his soles to it.” – John Burroughs ☘️ A doorstep I came across on the winding residential streets that led up to the Parthenon.

INANIMATE ROMANCE

I was 19 and gifted a private tour of the marble mine from which Michelangelo had ordered his blocks. Creamy calcium-rich puddles were just begging for cereal beside their massive parents. I went off with my camera and… MORE

PARTHENONING IN MY PJs

I took this shot forever ago with a disposable camera, and only today, it finds its story…

So I took Amtrak’s train “The Vermonter” north yesterday from Penn to visit my parents for a 6 day marathon of technological troubleshooting and straight-up furniture assembling, to up-level their lives a little… and about 6 hours into my ride, the train plowed through a tree on the tracks and its branches crashed against my window and I had that moment: “yes, this train might derail now”.

It’s funny how MORE

WHAT I LEARNED FROM A PAINTED CHAIR

I descended into that musty place and found colors usually attached to me, pleasantly fanned out on tables. Like I’d been swallowed up inside the kitsch and tourist-oriented design of someone who unknowingly, and possibly half-heartedly, decorated my very core into spot-on outward display. Naked in a pink chair, I became. Exposed in the saturation of it, and me. Like they knew. CLICK for MORE
