MY MIND ON VIEW

Another throwback to the exhibition of my CLOSER collection and Box Art at ABACO Space, outside of Berlin. The dibond print at right, “Cone Tar”, was later sold in a castle. #lifeisajourney

FIFTY BUCKS

I was a youngish thing, traveling alone in Sardinia. My boat to Sicily was delayed several days, so I wandered the port town, focusing on the details of the place – sidewalk splatters, building corners, local mannerisms, the poetry of lone stairs…

One afternoon, I was seated on a bench and focusing innocently enough on my lunch, when I was approached by a man who offered me $50 to blow him in the bathroom…

These are the kind of moments that turn the poetry a shade darker, even though I managed to shoo him away. These are the kind of moments that, when stacked up like dirty dishes over decades, make sense of #metoo. MORE

BREAK IN

I was in a field in Woodstock, NY,
And I spotted this taxi on a rock.
Battered and near the edge,

A cheery color enlivening the dismal,
It spoke of how others saw me.
